The Gamakatsu Assist 510 Hook features a curved point and outbarb design that prevents nickmarks on the leader when jigging. These hooks make for an effective option when targeting small- to medium-sized fish and are even great for short strikes when paired with bucktail jigs. The assist hook must be attached to the bucktail jig’s hook via slide loop and tightened to ensure the hook is in the correct position without fouling the line. As one of the first jigging assist hooks introduced in the US, the Assist 510 is a tried and true design. Thanks to a strong braided loop, these hooks will not swing while in use.
